CALIFORNIA CHAPTER, SPAAMFAA
General Membership Business Meeting Minutes
Hollister
June 13, 2010, Sunday

Meeting called to order at 1106 hours by President Will Radcliffe at the combined Meeting and Swap meet in Hollister at host member Zoltan Szucs at 2840 Carey Way.

13 members present, and 4 guests.
Board Members present: Will Radcliffe, Al Schwoerer, Ed Rominger, Chris Cavette (non-voting), Gordon Oakley, Jack Reeves, Tom Beisley (non-voting), and newly elected Paul George of Livermore.

Minutes of last Board of Directors virtual meeting were available on site, and dispensed with the reading, from a motion made by Chris Cavette. Same follows for last business meeting minutes.

Reports:

A. Treasurer- Stated by President, nothing sent. End of year at Board Meeting time balance was $4,314.78.

B. Newsletter Editor- no new items to report.

C. Secretary- One item only. National SPAAMFAA paperwork for the annual report with roster was made timely. No direct correspondence. Chris Cavette was thanked for his review and editing of all documents prepared by the Secretary. All e-mail items, which are many, are directly handled by Chris.

Old Business : None

New Business:

A. Election results- 283 ballots sent to membership. Dues had to be paid to be a voting member casting a valid ballot. 157 ballots returned, with everyone elected who was on ballot. Only directors were up for election, this was an off year for actual club officers. Paul George from Livermore, was latest elected Director.

B. Chapter Events for 2010:
June 13 - Hollister Swap Meet, sponsored by Zoltan Szucs and California Chapter SPAAMFAA.
 
Due to the low vendor turned out at Hollister, discussion was held about ways to improve attendance, and possibly combine events. Decided to try Hollister for one more year and try to achieve better success by attracting more vendors.
 
July 4 - Redwood City. Scratched per President, no response from City.
 
September 19 - Citrus Heights swap meet, co-sponsored by California Chapter of SPAAMFAA.
 
Date to be announced - Pleasanton Pump-In. Ed Rominger stated another pump-in will be scheduled later this year for Pleasanton.
 
Date to be announced - Firestation/Apparatus tours. Chris Cavette reported that Bill Hertan of Turlock wants to do a tour of Turlock City, Turlock Rural and Hughson.
 
Other events, none mentioned.

C. Other New Business: None.

Program: After the meeting, our gracious host let us tour his house and his extensive collection of antique fire memorabilia and scale train collection.
