Membership Application

If you own one or more antique fire engines, please also include such information as year of manufacture, what make (American-LaFrance, Seagrave, Ford/Van Pelt, etc.), and where each was originally used.

You do not need to own an antique fire engine, or to be a resident of California, to join the California Chapter of SPAAMFAA. You do not even need to be a resident of the United States. All you need is a sincere interest in either antique fire apparatus or the history of the fire service.

California Chapter publishes six newsletters per year, plus an annual roster of the Chapter membership. We hold an annual membership meeting, and annual pump-ins at Redwood City and Livermore, CA. We have an annual swap meet of fire apparatus parts, books, catalogs, manuals, etc.,  We also participate in antique fire apparatus events hosted by California Firemen's Muster Association (CFMA), which usually holds 3 to 4 events per year.

Many of our members who own fire engines participate in the annual Fire Prevention Week display held the first weekend in October at Great America Amusement Park in Santa Clara, CA. We encourage members who own antique fire apparatus to display their fire engines in parades, antique car shows, and other public events all over the state of California. Some of our members, and their vintage fire engines, participate in various fund-raising events for the Alisa Ann Ruch/California Burn Foundation, which raises money to assist children who have been burned in fires.
