JANUARY 28 (Sat) - San Jose Fire Department 158th Anniversary San Jose San Jose Fire Museum open house. 1661 Senter Road, Bldg. D 1 to 5 p.m. Tours of the museum, refreshments, ceremony at 3 p.m. This is an outstanding museum with lots of old rigs in varying stages of restored and unrestored condition. The public is welcome. Portola Avenue and North L Street. Meeting starts 1 p.m. This building is in original condition and has served as an auto garage and car dealership for almost 100 years. View the recently restored fire apparatus in the museum's collection. All are welcome. Come to the beautiful Sierra foothills and watch some great old rigs on display and in muster competition. Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Motorized competition on Sunday. All are welcome. MAY 27 (Sun) - California Chapter of SPAAMFAA Pleasanton Pump-In Pleasanton Pump-In and Apparatus Display sponsored by the California Chapter of SPAAMFAA. Pleasanton-Livermore Fire Department Training Center on Busch Road. Starts 9 a.m. All chapter safety rules apply -- apparatus owners must bring written proof of current vehicle liability insurance, a pair of wheel chocks, and a working fire extinguisher rated at least 2A10BC. You must have paid your 2012 chapter dues to participate -- no payment at the pump-in. Lots of apparatus and equipment for sale and on display. Our host has a completly equipped fire station that rivals many paid departments. Free admission and free selling spaces. Apparatus may be displayed on the street.
